TRASH/RECYCLING COLLECTION REGULATIONS
Trash and Recyclables will be collected every Monday. If Monday is a holiday, the collection will be the following day, Tuesday.
Trash & Recyclables should be placed at curbside not before 4:00PM on the day preceding collection, not after 7:00AM on the day of collection.
Special pick-ups for bulk items, furniture, tires and appliances are available upon request at additional cost. Call 610-948-3660.
Weekly maximum of not more than (6) containers or plastic bags, not exceeding 32 gallon capacity – 50 lb. weight limitation.
Weekly maximum of not more than (7) containers of plastic bags, not exceeding 32 gallon capacity – 50 lb. weight limitation.
Addition charges will be assessed on garbage and refuse in excess of seven 32 gallon containers.

WHAT AND HOW TO RECYCLE
Comingled: Place in the recycling bin.
Glass: Brown, Green & Clear
Plastic: Codes #1-7 marked inside triangle on the bottom of the container
Aluminum Beverage Cans and Bimetal (Tin) cans
Paper & Cardboard: Should be bundled and tied or placed in a paper or plastic bag and then set along side or in your recycle container.
Newspaper, magazines, corrugated (cardboard boxes flattened) paperboard (cereal type boxes)
Sorry we cannot take any ceramics, dishes, window glass, aerosol cans, wire hangers, or pots and pans. It is highly recommended that all plastics be flattened. Recyclables are collected every Monday. If Monday is a holiday, recyclables will be collected the following day, Tuesday.
Grass clippings, leaves, and twigs must be placed in brown yard waste paper bags and set at curbside for collection by the Borough. Separate the grass clippings from the regular trash. Do not mix refuse with the yard waste.
Note: All grass clippings must be bagged. The Borough will not collect loose grass clippings placed in containers.
All shrubbery and tree trimmings need to be bundled, tied together, should not exceed a length of 4 feet and be easy for one person to pick up. Place at curbside for collection. Please be sure to keep separate from the regular trash.
The yard waste material is not collected with the trash or recycling; it is a separate pickup and disposed of at our compost facility.
The Borough does provide a fall leaf vacuum collection program which occurs from the first week in October through the first week in December.
The Lanchester Landfill is accepting televisions, computers and computer peripherals. They may be brought to the Lanchester Landfill, 7224 28th Division Highway, Narvon (Route 322 West, Honey Brook). They will accept no more than 3 TV’s and/or monitors and they must be intact, not in pieces. There is no fee. The hours are Monday thru Friday, 7:00AM to 4:30 PM and Saturday, 7:00AM to 11:30AM. You must go onto the scale and let the weigh master know what you have. The weigh master will ask for identification.
