Borough Projects

 

BROWN STREET PARK IMPROVEMENTS
The Borough was awarded a Chester County Municipal Park & Trail Improvements Grant, a PaDCNR Small Communities Grant, and a PaDCED Greenway, Trails & Recreation Grant, totaling $257,543, for parking lot, playground, and ADA accessibility improvements at Brown Street Park. A project timeline has not been established.

COMMUNITY POOL
Application has been made through the office of Senator Katie Muth for state funding to be used for repairs, bathroom upgrades and improved ADA accessibility at the Spring City Community Pool complex.

GAY STREET BOAT LAUNCH
The Borough is applying for grants through PaDCED and PaDCNR for improvements to the Spring City boat launch. The project will include parking for vehicles with boat trailers, enhanced pedestrian connectivity and ADA accessibility, as well as a small picnic pavilion, picnic tables near the riverbank, lighting, and security cameras. A project timeline cannot be established until we receive notification of funding.

YOST AVENUE PARKING LOT PHASE III
Chester County Department of Community Development awarded the Borough a $390,640 Community Revitalization Program Grant to complete the top tier of the Yost Avenue parking lot. Twenty (20) public parking spaces will be added for patrons of the businesses on Main Street. The project will go out for bid in the spring for construction in the summer, and anticipated completion this fall.
